Description
ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - The city of Albany Ward 4 Commissioner Chad Warbington started an Operation Clean Sweep (OCS) cleanup at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 7.
Crews were in the Three Oaks area, located at the intersection of North Pheasant Drive and Meadowlark Drive. They spent the day taking care of any litter, debris and unsightly messes.
The program leverages dozens of city employees and equipment at once to clean up neighborhoods. Commissioner Warbington says times like these are a great opportunity for citizens to come out and engage with the city.
“This is just like an extra layer to bring everybody and just do like a blitz, if you will, it really just allows us to get a step ahead of everything,” said Commissioner Warbington.
Every week, OCS gets multiple City of Albany departments together to clean up litter, debris, trim brush, mow grass and more in different areas of each city ward.
Operation Clean Sweep rotates between the different Albany wards each month. Next month, Ward 5 will get similar attention.
