ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - A Phoebe Labor and Delivery nurse was named the August 2025 DAISY Award winner at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.

Keagen Carson received two heartfelt patient nominations that highlighted her commitment to providing excellent clinical care, as well as displaying kindness and emotional support in critical moments, Phoebe said in a release.

“She’s amazing. Thank you so much for being an excellent nurse that is really in tune with her patients, but also for being the kind and caring soul that you are,” the nomination read.

“I’m just so thankful and grateful for this nurse. With the heartfelt thank you that I have for her and her team, they saved my life and my son’s life that day,” the patient wrote.

Phoebe leaders said Carson exemplifies the qualities of a DAISY nurse through her compassion, advocacy, and professionalism.

“Keagen represents the very best of Phoebe nursing. Her calm presence and expert care reassure patients and families during some of their most vulnerable moments. She is deeply committed to ensuring every patient feels safe, heard, and supported. This recognition reflects the incredible difference Keagen makes every day. The DAISY Award is an international recognition program that honors the amazing work nurses do for patients and families every day, Phoebe said in the release.
