Description
ADEL, Ga. (WALB) – A potentially dangerous situation had a safe and successful outcome earlier today thanks to the quick action of local first responders and the steady hands of an experienced pilot.
Adel Police, Fire, and EMS teams rushed to the Cook County Airport following reports of an aircraft experiencing landing gear issues during its approach. Emergency crews were immediately staged on site, preparing for what could have been a serious emergency.
Fortunately, due to excellent communication between agencies and the pilot’s training, the aircraft was able to make a controlled landing. All passengers and crew walked away without injury.
Officials praised the seamless collaboration between law enforcement, fire services, and emergency medical teams, a partnership that continues to play a crucial role in keeping the Adel community safe
No damage or injuries were reported, and the airport has since resumed normal operations. Authorities have not released further details about the aircraft or the cause of the landing gear malfunction.
WALB will provide updates as more information becomes available.
