QUITMAN, Ga. (WALB) — The Quitman Police Department is providing details in two shooting incidents that happened Sept. 10.

Police say on Sept. 10 in the Hillsdale Heights area, one person was shot, while others were put in danger. The person who was shot was taken to a hospital and is in “stable” condition, police say.

“We are grateful for the quick response and assistance from our neighboring law enforcement agencies, including the Morven Police Department, Brooks County Sheriff’s Office, Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office, and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) Thomasville office. Through the combined efforts and presence of law enforcement, the situation was brought under control without any additional injuries or incidents,” police said in a Facebook post.

Police note there was also a separate incident involving shots being fired. Police responded quickly to the situation and took a juvenile into custody.
