ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - Georgia’s Department of Natural Resources’ Wildlife Resources Division (WRD) announced that applications for most quota hunts open on June 1. They said this includes CERTAIN youth, deer, alligator, waterfowl, dove and more.
The WRD defined a quota hunt as a scheduled wildlife event at a state-managed area. On these hunts, a limited number of hunters are allowed. The WRD said selected hunters must be properly licensed for quota hunts.
WRD officials said not to wait to submit your applications. Deadlines vary depending on what type of quota hunt (deer, alligator, etc.), but the first deadline is July 15.
To apply, visit GoOutdoorsGeorgia.com, select “Quota hunts” and complete an application. If you need assistance, the WRD said to call 1-800-366-2661.
