Forma Kitchen is a meal prep food service based in Ocilla; owner Lauren Jones says that a major reason she started her business is that she is heavily into staying in the gym and focused on daily nutrition.

“And a lot of people don’t realize that nutrition is probably 90 to 95 percent of everything,” said Jones.

Forma Kitchen offers an assortment of health-conscious menu items such as chicken, beef, fish, and sides like jasmine rice, sweet potatoes, and green beans, just to name a few.

Although Forma Kitchen is based in Ocilla, Jones says that she serves neighboring communities in Fitzgerald and Douglas along with other communities in the South Georgia area.

Though starting a business and maintaining it might be trying at times, Jones expressed how she has felt a sense of fulfillment through it all.

“You know, I take meals to a person’s house that can’t really get out of the house, you know, that’s disabled or the mom...trying to raise kids.”

Jones hopes to continue serving the community healthy items and providing them with gluten-free and sugar-free ingredients where she can.
