MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - A judge sentenced the man accused of threatening to kill a New York reporter and blow up her house.

Austin Suman was sentenced to nine months in prison on count one, which is threatening interstate communications.

Authorities say Suman will be supervised for three years after his release from federal prison.

Suman was arrested in November in the Cresswind neighborhood after investigators said he “made a series of violent and hate-based threats to a news reporter, threatening to kill her and her family, as well as blow up her house.”

Documents show he made the threats because she reported on his previous arrest in February 2019, when he was accused of threatening a roommate with a gun.
