HARFORD COUNTY, MD. (WBFF) — Sentencing for Victor Martinez-Hernandez, the man convicted of killing Rachel Morin, has been scheduled for later this year.

The sentencing will take place on August 11 at 9:30 a.m. at the Harford County Courthouse.

Martinez-Hernandez, an accused illegal immigrant, was found guilty earlier this month of first degree murder, first degree rape, third degree sexual offense and kidnapping Morin, a Harford County mother of five, in August 2023.

Her body was found brutalized and stuffed in a tunnel drain along Bel Air’s Ma and Pa trail.

Martinez-Hernandez was arrested in June 2024 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, after authorities used his DNA to identify him as a suspect and his cellphone pinged at a sports bar in the area.

During the trial, Martinez-Hernandez's defense presented its case in less than 10 minutes, leading to jury deliberations that lasted less than an hour.

Martinez-Hernandez, 24, now faces life in prison for killing and raping Morin.
