VALDOSTA, Ga. (WALB) - South Georgia Medical Center (SGMC) spread warm holiday cheer with a tradition that celebrates babies born during the Christmas holiday.

Every newborn delivered during this season will be welcomed with a handmade stocking and Santa hat, made by members of the SGMC Health Volunteer Auxiliary.

“Creating these stockings and hats is our way of sharing joy and making families feel special during such an important moment in their lives.”

The hospital is investing in its maternal and infant care unit with ongoing construction, projecting its completion to be late 2026.
