Description
ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - A heat up, rinse, and repeat cycle as more afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms return to South Georgia on Monday and Tuesday. Highs will be reduced at this time, with many areas sitting in the upper 80s. Severe weather is not likely at this time. Lows will fall into the 70s.
A stationary trough (area of elongated low pressure) will remain over the region through Thursday, aiding in higher coverage of showers and thunderstorms. As of right now, an area of pressure will be left behind after a frontal boundary slides through the Southeast on Friday. Depending on the placement of the low, rain chances will be impacted by next weekend. We will keep you updated on the latest.
Tropical Update: Tropical Storm Barry is set to weaken heading into Monday as it moves into Mexico. An area of low pressure to watch could turn tropical near the Florida-Georgia-South Carolina Coast, but it has low chances of development for now, with only a 20% chance within the next 7 days.
