Description
ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - Scattered showers and storms Friday afternoon became widespread early evening. As an area of low pressure pushes north from the Gulf, a large mass of rain continues to track right into SGA. Expect rainy weather tonight into Saturday with periods of heavy rain and possibly a few strong storms. Although the threat is low an isolated tornado can’t be ruled out. A brief break from the rain Saturday evening before the next round on Sunday.
Expect a washout Mother’s Day! More heavy rain is on tap along with a flash flooding threat. Enjoy Mother’s Day but stay alert and watch for rising water especially in low lying areas.
Get use to the downpours we’re still wet on Monday into early Tuesday with total rainfall of 3-5″+. Finally the cut-off low responsible for the extended wet period lifts out which brings drier conditions back on Wednesday. The big payoff brings abundant sunshine and hotter highs low 90s the end of the week.
