ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - The sole finalist for the position of President and CEO of the Albany Convention and Visitors Bureau has been announced.

On Wednesday, Sept. 10, it was announced that Kasey L. Summerville was named the sole finalist for the position.

A release said that she has over 20 years of leadership experience in destination marketing, community engagement, and executive management. Additionally, she has served 15 years as the elected Tax Assessor for Clark County, Arkansas.

“We are excited to welcome Kasey to Albany,” said Johnny Seabrooks, Chair of the Albany Convention & Visitors Bureau. “Her proven track record in tourism leadership and community collaboration will be invaluable as we continue to grow Albany as a premier travel and events destination. I believe she is the right professional to build on the solid foundation already in place at Visit Albany.”

Georgia Law requires that Summerville’s application materials be available for public review for at least 14 days before the board may take a final action on her appointment. The materials will be available in the Dougherty County Attorney’s Office.

When she is approved, Summerville is expected to begin her tenure in Albany the first week of October.
