ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church in Albany is set to host the Kids Clothing & Toy Swap on Sunday, Dec. 14 from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the church’s Parish Hall.

The Kids Clothing & Toy Swap encourages the reuse of children’s items. The event not only supports local families, but also helps reduce unnecessary waste during a season often marked by excess.

“The Church is at its best when it is families and households supporting each other. It goes all the way back to the time of Acts,” said the Rev. Kyle C. Mackey, Rector of St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church. “This event is a simple yet meaningful way to bless our community, care for creation and spread the joy of Christmas in a tangible way.”

How It Works

The church will be accepting gently used children’s clothing and toys during scheduled drop-off times. Books, puzzles and games will also be accepted. In exchange, they will receive tokens to use on Swap Day. All items available on Dec. 14 will be free — no money exchanged.

“We know the holidays can be financially challenging,” added Fr. Mackey. “This swap is a small but powerful way we can stand alongside families, not just spiritually, but practically.”

Donation Drop-Off Times

St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church is located at 4800 Old Dawson Road in Albany.

  • Dec. 12 — 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Dec. 13 — 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Alternate times may be arranged by appointment.

Swap day will be on Sunday, Dec. 14, from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., and it will also be held in the Parish Hall of St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church.

Token System

  • 1–3 tokens for toys/clothing
  • 5+ tokens for high-quality or new-with-tags items

Families will receive token cards at drop-off.

Leftover Items

Remaining items will be donated to local nonprofits or saved for future swap events. For questions or special arrangements, contact [email protected] .
