CRISP COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) - A routine traffic stop in Crisp County led to an arrest after deputies discovered a stolen firearm and illegal drugs, according to the Crisp County Sheriff’s Office.

On Feb. 1, a Crisp County deputy stopped a Honda Accord for a seatbelt violation. During the stop, the deputy determined the vehicle’s registration had expired. While speaking with the driver, dispatch also confirmed the driver’s license was suspended.

As the driver exited the vehicle, the deputy observed a Glock handgun with an extended magazine in plain view. The firearm was later confirmed to be stolen through the Warner Robins Police Department.

The driver, identified as Zepha Hill, was arrested and transported to the Crisp County Jail.

Hill faces the following charges:

  • Driving while license suspended
  • Expired tag
  • Seatbelt violation
  • Theft by receiving stolen property
  • Felony possession of marijuana
  • Possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime

Officials noted that the photo released with this case is intended to raise awareness about how drugs, beyond marijuana are commonly packaged.
