THURSDAY EVENING: A few strong to severe storms are holding on and trekking southward. Most of it should die out by sunset as the energy to produce these storms will decrease. Skies will gradually clear for a quiet night ahead.

FRIDAY: It will kick off warm and muggy with temperatures in the low to mid 70s. By sunrise, temperatures will quickly soar and so will the feels-like temperatures. The heat and humidity combined will allow the mid 90s to feel like 105-110. Area-wide Heat Advisories will kick off at noon until 8pm. Some areas will see scattered showers and storms to help cool down until the evening. Keep the umbrella close if you have any Friday night plans outdoors.

WEEKEND: The heat continues with more Heat Advisories likely. Afternoon rain chances may keep some cooler. There is a Marginal Risk for flash flooding on Saturday. Sunday looks to trend hotter with rain being more sparse.

EARLY WEEK: FIRST ALERT WEATHER DAYS 8/17-8/19 FOR DANGEROUS HEAT. The dominant ridge of high pressure stays put and allows for afternoon highs to be in the upper 90s approaching 100. Factor in the humidity and heat indices will rise near 110+. Better rain chances return by mid-week.
