Description
AMERICUS, Ga. (WALB) - Sumter County High School was placed under soft lockdown following a fight on Thursday, Sept. 11.
The fight, which occurred between 10 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., involved three to four students who were “disciplined accordingly,” according to Sumter County Sheriff Eric Bryant. No injuries were reported.
The students were removed from the building.
The lockdown lasted until the end of the school day.
Sheriff Bryant said the soft lockdown was put in place to keep the students in a more controlled environment.
