PINEVIEW, Ga. (WALB) - The suspect has been identified in a deadly double homicide in Pineview, according to the Wilcox County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO).

The sheriff’s office posted to Facebook that an arrest warrant has been issued for 39-year-old Quintavis Holt for the fatal shooting deaths of 36-year-old Nathadius Lawson and 40-year-old Charleston Calix.

WCSO’s post said that at around 12:41 a.m. on May 25, Holt went to the 200 block of Depot Street, where he saw 36-year-old Nathadius Lawson and 40-year-old Charleston Calix.

Both Lawson and Calix were socializing in an outbuilding behind the house when Holt opened fire, fatally wounding both men.

He then fled the scene on foot and remains at large.

WCSO deputies went to the scene and began searching for Holt. Wilcox County Sheriff Jeff Wessell requested assistance from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), which joined the investigation.

The sheriff’s office said that witness interviews and residential surveillance footage helped WCSO and the GBI identify Holt as the suspect. Arrest warrants have since been obtained.

Holt is now facing the following charges:

• Two counts of Malice Murder (Felony)
• One count of Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime (Felony)
• One count of Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon (Felony)
• Two counts of Aggravated Assault (Felony)

“We urge everyone in the community to be vigilant. Quintavis Holt is considered armed and dangerous. Violent and senseless crimes like this have no place in Wilcox County. We will not rest until he is taken into custody and behind bars where he belongs,” said Sheriff Wessell.
