JASPER, Ga. (ANF/Gray News) - A suspect has died after a shooting at a VA clinic in Georgia.
Jasper police responded to the Pickens County VA clinic after a reported shooting at about 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.
After arriving at the scene, officers found and fatally shot the suspect, authorities said.
The suspect has not yet been identified.

An employee was reportedly shot and airlifted to a hospital. Their condition is unknown.
In a statement, the city asked the public to avoid the area as the investigation continues. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation said it has been asked to help with the case.
In a statement, FBI Atlanta said it is assessing whether federal officials should get involved.
“I ask all Georgians to join us in praying for those impacted and for our first responders,” Gov. Brian Kemp said in a social media post.
The Pickens County VA Clinic is an outpatient clinic that provides primary care and specialty health services, according to its website.
The VA said the clinic will be closed for the rest of the week.
