TeacherTennesseeClassroomInvestigationMunfordPoliceSchoolDeathMUNFORD, Tenn. (TNND) — A teacher was found dead in a Tennessee classroom Thursday morning prompting officials to shut down the school for the day.
The Munford Police Department said officers responded to an "emergency situation" at Munford High School just before the start of the school day.
There were no indications of foul play and all students were safe, according to police.
"We want to assure parents, students, and the community that there is no ongoing threat," a statement on Facebook read.
Tipton County Schools Assistant Superintendent Rebekah Byrd told Fox13 that the death was an "isolated incident."
An investigation is underway.
