VALDOSTA, Ga. (WALB) - First responders in Valdosta are having a friendly competition to see which team can receive the most blood donations.
The Battle of the Badges Blood Drive will take place from noon until 6 p.m. on Monday, July 23.
Donors can support either the Valdosta Fire Department (VFD) or the Valdosta Police Department (VPD) by donating on behalf of the department of their choice.
To donate, visit the City Hall Annex Multi-Purpose Room located at 300 North Lee Street.
According to VFD, last year’s donations saved 165 lives.
This year, they hope to turn up the heat and save even more.
Donors will receive either a free Team Fire or Team Police t-shirt as well as a $25 e-gift card.
