ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - An 18-year-old has been arrested and charged after firing shots at another teenager.
According to the release from the Albany Police Department (APD), on March 24 officers responded to McDonald’s on Oglethorpe Boulevard in reference to a shooting. They said a 16-year-old told officers that he left the scene after he struck the curb, which caused him to strike two vehicles waiting in the drive-thru. He returned to the scene and parked in a nearby parking lot because he didn’t want to approach the vehicle he struck while it was close to the building.
APD said as the teen was walking up to the parking space, an unknown man, later identified as Thomas Threatts, 18, approached him and began firing shots at him. A witness told officials that she saw the suspect run towards the 16-year-old, shooting as he ran away in the parking lot.
The firearm was recovered in a nearby alley.
After further investigation, Threatts was charged with aggravated assault and theft by receiving stolen property. He was taken to the Dougherty County Jail.
