ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - The Georgia Bureau of Investigation remembers and honors special agent Welton L. Harrell.

On Dec. 23, 1964, agent Harrell was responding to a shooting when he lost control of his vehicle and crashed. He was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment but later died due to his injuries.

A portion of Highway 262 in Mitchell County is dedicated to his remembrance.
