Description
ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - On September 1, 1941, ground officially broke on Robins Air Force Base in Warner Robins.
The base is home to the 78th Air Base Wing, and it’s the largest single-site industrial complex in Georgia. Originally, the base was being constructed on 3,000 acres. Later, the military bought an additional 2,700 acres.
Today, the base employs a workforce of almost 22,000 people.
