ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - On September 28, 2020, the worldwide COVID-19 death toll reached 1 million.
At about the same time, the state of Georgia reported that we had surpassed 7,000 confirmed deaths.
Now, five years later, COVID-19 is still around, and Georgia has reported almost 2.5 million confirmed total cases and about 36,000 confirmed deaths.
Worldwide, there have been over 778 million coronavirus cases since December 2019.
As the cold weather approaches this year, make sure you and your family are taking precautions and staying safe.
