CINCINNATI (WKRC) — A West End mother has been indicted on murder and other charges for the death of her 4-month-old son. Ja'Nasia Green could get life in prison with the possibility of parole after 15 years if convicted of all charges.
Hamilton County Prosecutor Melissa Powers said Green called 911 about Hassani George, who was unresponsive, on Oct. 25 just before noon.
Not only was Hassani already dead when crews got there, but he was cold to the touch and in full rigor mortis, according to Powers.
In fact, she said Hassani had been dead for nine hours.
The prosecutor spelled out all the boy's injuries.
- Blunt trauma
- Contusions to the left and right eyelids
- Scars on his neck
- Contusions and abrasions to the abdominal wall
- Hemorrhages to both eyes
- Bleeding beneath the scalp
- Fractured ribs – both healing and acute
- Laceration of the liver
- Internal bleeding in the abdomen
“The abuse this child went through is impossible to comprehend," said Powers in a news release. "As a mother, I will never understand how someone can be so barbaric to their own child."
This poor kid never had a chance.
We will do everything in our power to ensure this woman never hurts another child again.”
