THOMAS COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) — A Thomas County Sheriff’s deputy was injured Friday while responding to a call with lights and sirens activated.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the deputy was traveling through an intersection following emergency response protocol when another vehicle ran a red light and collided with the patrol unit.
The impact resulted in the deputy being transported to the hospital with complaints of leg pain. Officials say the other driver involved in the crash appeared to be unharmed.
