THOMASVILLE, Ga. (WALB) - Two Thomasville Bulldogs players are sharing Player of the Week honors after leading their teams to Class A Division I state championships.
Freshman Donzee Applewhite and junior Sara Cameron Sullivan each scored their team’s lone goal in the title matches.
Sullivan’s goal came in overtime against Model with 53 seconds remaining. She finished a corner kick to complete the Lady Dawgs’ 23-0 season.
The boys team followed with their own championship. Applewhite headed in a corner kick in the second half against Armuchee to lift the Dawgs to the title. The Bulldogs get redemption after Armuchee won the championship over Thomasville last season.
