THOMASVILLE, Ga. (WCTV) - Thomasville residents will soon be able to enjoy exciting new features at three city parks.
An $11 million project to refresh and upgrade the parks is already underway. Paradise Park began phase one of renovations in 2025, and the second phase of renovations is scheduled to be completed in 2027.
The park’s new features will include new playground equipment and restrooms, among other improvements.

Meanwhile, Balfour Park is set to receive a new bathroom facility, pavilion and a water feature.
Finally, Cassidy Park will also get new restrooms and a pavilion as well as recreational features like a walking trail, fishing dock and a disc golf course.
The director of Thomasville Parks and Recreation, Mike Owens, said these improvements will make a difference to the community.
“A strong park system helps everyone,” he said. “It does help families with young children to get the kids out to the park, but it also helps empty nesters, it helps seniors. Parks are great for physical activity, but it helps your mental activity as well.”
Owens also said these renovations will help attract more people to the city of roses.
