THOMASVILLE, Ga. (WALB) – The City of Thomasville has formally notified RedSpeed LLC of its intent to terminate its contract related to the city’s school camera program, effective August 1, 2025.
In a letter dated May 14, Chief of Police R. Wade Glover stated the termination aligns with the terms of the agreement, which allows for cancellation with a 60-day notice. The letter requests that RedSpeed take all necessary steps to wind down operations and transition any equipment, data, or remaining obligations before the termination date.
“We appreciate the services that RedSpeed LLC has provided,” the letter reads, “and are committed to ensuring a smooth and professional conclusion to the partnership.”
The school camera program, which was implemented to promote traffic safety in school zones, will be discontinued unless the city pursues a new provider or an alternative safety measure.
Chief Glover’s letter serves as the official notification and requests confirmation of receipt, along with any required procedures to complete the termination process.
WALB will continue to follow this story and provide updates on the city’s plans for traffic and school zone safety moving forward.
