TIFTON — Tift County Blue Devils basketball player Kaden Lawson has been named this week’s Player of the Week after scoring in double digits in consecutive games.

With the recent win, the Blue Devils have beaten two of the four region opponents they lost to earlier this season. They will play the remaining two teams next month.

Lawson scored in double digits earlier this week at Valdosta and followed that performance with 27 points in front of a home crowd. The player also demonstrated strong defensive skills with multiple blocks.

“It feels great. This is my third award this week. So I’m feeling very blessed right now. All glory to God,” Lawson said. “It feels like we’ve been in the drop for a long time. So for my team to come and get two big wins and top of third, it feels very great.”

Under new head coach leadership, Lawson said he knew he would need to step up this season. Lawson said his energy is infectious and the Blue Devils are just warming up.
