RAB, Croatia (WKRC) — A young child reportedly died from falling roughly 12 feet onto concrete after slipping out of her father's arms while riding down a waterslide.

According to local outlet 24 Sata, a German tourist and his 21-month-old daughter boarded a water slide at the Aquagan water park on Tuesday afternoon.

When the pair was about 11 feet and 5 inches from the ground, the child reportedly slipped out of her father's arms and fell to the concrete ground below.

"Don't ask me anything," the father reportedly said after rushing to his daughter's side. "My daughter is dying!"

The girl did not die immediately, according to a nearby witness.

"The waiter had just brought me coffee," the witness told 24 Sata. "When we heard crying and shouting, we thought the child had drowned. Then we saw a man carrying the child on the side. A doctor from Slovenia happened to be there and immediately came to help. They managed to wake the girl up, she was moving her arms. That doctor then informed the emergency services about the heartbeat and the duration of resuscitation of three minutes - he told us."

The child was unconscious but had sustained multiple life-threatening injuries from the fall, and despite immediate and intensive care, she was pronounced dead at the hospital the morning after the incident, per the outlet.
