Description
ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - All eyes are on a tropical disturbance east of Florida that will enter the Gulf over the next few days. This system has a 40% chance of development within the next 2 to 7 days. The next name on the list is Dexter.
However, South Georgia will have little impact from this system today. Most wet weather will remain to our south, but a few isolated pockets of rainfall are possible. Instead, the bigger focus is the heat this afternoon and evening as highs soar into the upper 90s, but feel like the triple digits. This is why several counties are under a Heat Advisory until 8 P.M. this evening. The counties include:
- Brooks, GA
- Decatur, GA
- Grady, GA
- Lowndes, GA
- Seminole, GA
- Thomas, GA
Wednesday starts dry as lows drop into the 70s. However, rain chances are picking up as Invest 93L moves into the Gulf. This system is not expected to move into South Georgia, but it will drive in enough Gulf moisture for better chances for showers and thunderstorms over the next two days. This will help drop temperatures and heat indices. However, we are trending drier and hotter by the weekend.
