Description
FITZGERALD, Ga. (WALB) - Drivers are encouraged to prepare for an upcoming traffic change in Ben Hill County.
Traffic will be shifted to a temporary roundabout configuration at State Route 90 and Lower Rebecca Road in Fitzgerald, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT).
The traffic shift is set to start on Sept. 9. That date is subject to change.
GDOT says the traffic shift is needed for continued construction of the new roundabout, which is scheduled to be completed by the end of this year.
Traffic entering the intersection from all directions will be required to yield once the shift is in place. Signs will be posted to control traffic.
“As a reminder of roundabout driving etiquette, traffic in the circle has the right of way. Please slow down and remain alert for workers on site as construction will be ongoing,” GDOT said.
