GRADY COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) – A traffic stop on U.S. Highway 319 led to a major drug trafficking arrest in Grady County on June 18, 2025, according to the Grady County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies pulled over a vehicle for speeding and identified the driver as Devarius Kelly, 37, of Tallahassee, Florida. During a probable cause search of the vehicle, deputies discovered a quantity of marijuana and MDMA (ecstasy), both packaged for distribution. Digital scales were also recovered, indicating intent to sell.

In addition to the drugs, deputies found an assault rifle inside the vehicle.

Kelly was arrested without incident and is facing multiple felony charges, including:

  • Possession of marijuana with intent to distribute
  • Trafficking in MDMA
  • Possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime

Sheriff Earl Prince praised the deputies’ actions, stating:

“Our office takes a zero-tolerance approach when it comes to illegal drugs and weapons in our community. We will continue to aggressively pursue those who bring this poison into Grady County.”

The case remains under investigation.
