ISRAEL (TNND) — President Trump is addressing Israel’s parliament after all 20 surviving hostages have been released from Gaza.
The release of the hostages is the first phase of the peace deal between Israel and Hamas, with the remains of the other hostages expected to be released later on Monday.
Officials from the United States are also in attendance inside the Knesset, including Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee, Joint Chiefs chairman Gen. Dan Caine, CIA Director John Ratcliffe, and senior adviser Stephen Miller.
Ivanka Trump, the president’s daughter, is also in attendance with her husband, Jared Kushner, who helped organize the peace deal with Steve Witkoff.
After his address, Trump will travel to Egypt to join a Middle East peace summit.
Trump and more than 20 countries will discuss Gaza’s future.
In addition to the hostages being released, 250 Palestinian prisoners who have been in Israel since Oct. 7, 2023, are also being released.
As Trump entered the room to give his speech, the Israeli Parliament broke out into applause that lasted for several minutes.
