ALBNAY, Ga.(WALB) - The scene of an overturned tractor-trailer that shut down part of East Broad Avenue earlier has now been cleared.

Earlier, the Albany Police Department advised motorists to avoid the 300 block of East Broad Avenue near the railroad area after a tractor-trailer overturned in the roadway, forcing westbound traffic to shut down while crews worked to remove the truck.

Officials say the tractor-trailer has now been cleared from the scene and the roadway has reopened to traffic.

Authorities thank drivers for their patience and cooperation while crews worked to safely clear the area.
