WASHINGTON, D.C. (7News) — U.S. Capitol Police have detained a man who had a bow and arrow near the Capitol in D.C.
On Wednesday morning, officers saw an unusual vehicle at the 200 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, Northwest. The vehicle had a tri-cycle strapped to the roof.
When officers moved closer, they saw a bow and arrow, as well as an empty gun holster in plain view. The owner of the vehicle was located just outside the north barricade near the Capitol.
The suspect was detained for questioning and admitted to having guns in the vehicle, as well as a bow and arrow. 7News was at the scene as officers continued to search through the vehicle. At some point, police are seen pulling out the bow and arrow, as well as what appears to be some sort of medieval hatchet.
The bomb squad had also responded to the area and made sure the car was clear prior to the search.
U.S. Capitol Police said that charges are pending and the incident is under investigation.
