Description

VALDOSTA, Ga. (WALB) - A tip from another law enforcement agency helped Valdosta Police keep several drugs off the streets.

Investigators with the Valdosta Police Department arrested 58-year-old Joseph Williams, Jr. on May 11, on seven drug trafficking charges.

In total, Williams faces 9 charges:

  • Possession of Methamphetamine with the intent to distribute-felony;
  • Possession of Alpha-PVP with the intent to distribute-felony;
  • Possession of Crack Cocaine with the intent to distribute, felony;
  • Possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute-felony;
  • Possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute-felony;
  • Possession of a schedule II controlled substance-felony;
  • Possession of a schedule III controlled substance-felony;
  • Possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony; and
  • Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, in violation of the law.

“This was excellent work by our Narcotics Unit. They immediately began to investigate the information they received, which allowed them to seize these narcotics before they could get into our community.”

Investigators found the following in Williams’ home in the 400 block of McDougal Street:

  • 7.8 grams of Alpha-PVP
  • 1.1 grams of powder cocaine
  • 8 grams of crack cocaine
  • 6 grams of marijuana
  • 12 grams of methamphetamine pills
  • Over 20 Oxycodone pills
  • 16 Tylenol 3 pills
  • a firearm
