ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - An auto accident in Albany left one person hospitalized after a vehicle overturned several times, according to police reports.

Authorities said the crash happened Sunday evening on the 1400 block of West Broad Avenue. Witnesses told officers the driver lost control of a 2010 Toyota Camry while traveling westbound. The vehicle reportedly struck a mailbox and overturned five times before coming to a stop.

Several passengers were inside the car at the time. At least two people sustained minor injuries, while the driver was transported to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital for treatment of head injuries and cuts, where they later died.

The incident remains under investigation.
