ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A metro Atlanta radio personality who entertained listeners for decades has died, according to one of his former stations.
William Choate, better known as “Cadillac Jack,” was a morning show host on Kicks 101.5, now known as New Country 101-Five, for 25 years. He most recently was an afternoon host with The Bear 92.5 from 2021 to 2024.
Outside the country radio community, Choate was also a co-host of the Macy’s Great Tree lighting, which was discontinued in 2023.

In a social media post, The Bear 92.5 said they were saddened to hear the news.
“He was a true legend in country music radio,” the station said. “Our prayers and thoughts are with his family during this difficult time!”
Other radio personalities also took to social media to mourn Choate.
“We recently reconnected and had a long, fun conversation that I’ll remember fondly,” Corey Dylan, who used to co-host with Choate at New Country 101-Five, said. “Please keep Cadillac Jack’s 3 kids in your prayers.”
Dustin Fordham, another personality at The Bear 92.5, said he is heartbroken over the loss.
“The craziness is over, rest in peace my friend!” he wrote.
Choate’s cause of death is currently unknown.
