EARLY COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) - Two Florida family members were killed in a crash just after midnight on Friday, July 31, at the intersection of Spooner Quarter Road and Killarney Road in Early County.
An Iron City man has since been arrested and charged in connection with the deadly crash.
Early County Coroner Crystal Tolbert confirmed to WALB that the victims have been identified as Charles E. Cauley, 79, and Grayson Tucker, 58, both of Altha, Florida. According to the coroner, the two were traveling home from Columbus, Georgia, when the crash occurred.
According to Early County Sheriff’s Office report Ladavion Williams, 21, of Iron City, has been arrested and faces the following charges in connection with the incident:

- Driving under the influence (misdemeanor)
- First-degree homicide by vehicle (felony)
- First-degree homicide by vehicle (felony)
- Failure to yield right of way (misdemeanor)
- Distracted driving (misdemeanor)
- Driving without a license on person (misdemeanor)
According to the preliminary report from GSP, a Ford F-150 driven by Williams was traveling west on Killarney Road when it failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection with Spooner Quarter Road. GSP says Williams entered the intersection and struck the driver’s side of a southbound Ford Ranger carrying Cauley and Tucker. The impact forced both vehicles off the southwest side of the intersection. Both individuals in the Ford Ranger were pronounced dead at the scene.
