Description

ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - An Albany Church is not letting a devastating fire prevent it from feeding people this Thanksgiving. The Harvest Temple Faith Ministries church caught fire on Jan. 18th, 2025. The fire left an empty lot where the church once stood. Nearly a year later, they are still without a place of worship, but that is not preventing them from serving the citizens of Albany.

On Tuesday at 11 A.M., church members handed out dozens of bags of food to the community. The bags were stuffed with canned goods, paper products, and fresh collard greens.

“Even with our setbacks, we still have a mission to do, and our mission is to reach out to those that are in need, and that’s what we are here to do today. Just to give back. To put our problems aside just for a moment and help somebody else, and that’s the mission of Jesus Christ to help others.”

In total, the church prepared 100 food bags with some additional resources once they ran out.
