(Gray News) - A SpaceX rocket launch from Florida early Tuesday morning lit up the sky in several states including Georgia, Virginia and North Carolina.

A Falcon 9 rocket launched a robotic Dragon capsule at 6:33 a.m. from Florida’s Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.

Shortly after, the rocket could be seen in the sky in several states.

In McDonough, Georgia, Brent Tovar took a video of the SpaceX rocket, not knowing what it was at first.

“That’s pretty cool,” he said.

Sam Clay shared a photo taken in Richmond, Virginia.

In Florida, North Carolina and Georgia, several people reported seeing a “space jellyfish” as a result of the rocket leaving behind a trail of exhaust that expanded and spread out in the thin upper air. The phenomenon typically happens when a launch happens during early morning or evening twilight.

The rocket is delivering 6,300 pounds of supplies to the International Space Station.

After an approximate 52-hour flight, Dragon will autonomously dock with the orbiting laboratory on Thursday around 11:00 a.m.
