ROCHELLE, Ga. (WALB) - If you look up the definition of dominance, you’ll probably find a picture of #4 on the Wilcox County Patriots baseball team.

Johnny Nutt was sensational in the Patriots playoff series against Baconton Charter. He had the Blazers hitters off balance all day with no answer. Nutt located well and found the zone with his off-speed pitches. He totaled 19 strikeouts in game one.

In game two, Nutt entered the game needing two outs to send Wilcox County to the final four. After surrendering an RBI single to Daniel Cruz, he struck out Grayson White to end the game.

This postseason has been historic for Nutt. The lefty has not allowed an earned run in his 17+ innings of work. He’s appeared in five of the six playoff games for the Patriots. In his last two starts, he’s combined for 34 strikeouts while tossing two no hitters.
