Description

SPARKS, Ga. (WALB) — A woman was arrested at about 3:05 p.m. after she reportedly barricaded herself inside of a residence in Sparks at about 2:35 p.m. Monday, Dec. 29, according to the Sparks Police Department (SPD).

Law enforcement officials had surrounded a residence at the Fox Run Mobile Home Park, where the initial incident occurred.

This comes after reports of shots being fired at the mobile home park. SPD said that the woman fired shots, but that police did not return fire and no one was injured.

The woman’s identity was not released. Officials said she was taken to the Cook County Jail.

The Adel News-Tribune reported that Cook County Probate Judge Chase Daughtrey, “signed an order for an involuntary evaluation of an alleged mental health subject, a 46-year-old female, after the subject allegedly shot at law enforcement attempting to serve a warrant at an address on Sycamore Street in Sparks.”
