BEN HILL COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) - A woman was detained after allegedly breaking into a home and staying inside for an extended period of time.

The Ben Hill County Sheriff’s Office (BHCSO) went to a residence in the 200 block of Mobley Bluff for a burglary in progress.

The sheriff’s office said a woman was detained by deputies when they arrived.

A preliminary investigation found that the women unlawfully entered the home through a window about four to five days earlier and remained inside until confronted by the returning homeowner, the sheriff’s office said.

It was later discovered that she had an active arrest warrant out of Irwin County. She also matched the description for recent complaints of suspicious activity in the Mobley Bluff area.

She was taken into custody and taken to the Ben Hill County Jail. She was charged with felony burglary in the first degree.

The sheriff’s office said her bond was denied by the Ben Hill County Magistrate.
