WORTH COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) - Best Friends Humane Society in Worth County is helping animals impacted by wildfires in the area find a safe home.

The Humane Society used its transport trailer to help with dogs being evacuated from Brantley County due to the wildfires, according to the organization.

Ten dogs were picked up, and the humane society said it is continuing to work to get the animals adopted or placed with rescues.

Donations needed

The Humane Society is asking for the following donations:

• Laundry detergent and dryer sheets
• Dawn dish soap
• Floor cleaner (no Pine-Sol; Mr. Clean preferred)
• Paper towels
• Toilet paper
• Trash bags
