VALDOSTA, Ga. (WALB) - Officials responded to the scene of a residential structure fire at about 3:05 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 21, the Valdosta Fire Department (VFD) said.
No one was inside the residence at the time of the fire, but two adults were displaced, according to VFD. The fire department said that one of the residents required assistance from the Red Cross.
A space heater operating too close to furniture was the cause of the fire, according to VFD.
The fire was in the 800 block of North Troup Street, VFD said.
