Lee County, Ga. (WALB) - A Lee County man has been sentenced to life in prison for sex trafficking of a minor. He was convicted on enticement and molestation charges, according to the Lee County sheriff’s office.

L.C. Phillips, 63, was originally charged on August 5, 2024, after an investigation by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit. After a trial by jury, Phillips was found guilty and sentenced as follows:

• Sex Trafficking of a Minor — Life Imprisonment
• Enticing a Child for Indecent Purposes — Life Imprisonment, to run consecutively
• Child Molestation — Life Imprisonment, to run concurrently

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office released the following statement about the conviction and sentence:

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office extends our sincere gratitude to the citizens of Lee County who served as jurors, whose careful consideration of the evidence and commitment to civic duty were essential to the pursuit of justice in this case.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to protecting children and holding offenders accountable to the fullest extent of the law.

The Sheriff’s Office also extends our sincere appreciation to the Southwestern Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office, specifically District Attorney Lewis Lamb and Assistant District Attorney Cania Brown-Gordan, for their dedication and prosecution of this case.
