AMERICUS, Ga. (WALB) - Three men – ages 20, 19 and 17 – were arrested and charged in connection to an aggravated assault investigation in Sumter County, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI).

The GBI announced Tuesday, Aug. 12 that Ashton Pride (20), Micah Stephens (19) and Arderion Jones (17) were arrested following an Aug. 2 incident that left one person with a gunshot wound.

The Americus Police Department (APD) was called on Aug. 2 to the 100 block of Knollwood Drive after hearing reports that a man was shot, according to the GBI. The victim was treated by first responders and eventually transferred to Phoebe Putney in Albany, the GBI said. The victim’s current condition is unclear.

The GBI said that the arrests of Pride, Stephens and Jones were as a result of their investigation into this incident.

Below are their charges, according to the GBI:

Ashton Pride, 20, from Smithville

• 3 counts of aggravated assault
• Aggravated battery
• 2nd degree criminal damage to property
• Theft by taking
• Entering auto
• Possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime

Micah Stephens, 19, from Americus

• 2 counts of party to the crime of aggravated assault

Arderion Jones, 17, from Americus

• 3 counts of aggravated assault
• Aggravated battery
• 2nd degree criminal damage to property
• Possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime

Pride and Stephens were arrested on Aug. 8, and Jones was arrested on Aug. 11, according to the GBI.
